Almost all major sports have film study — basketball and football specifically have film study rooms where they watch and breakdown their performance and opponent's performances.
One of my big takeaways from A Million Styles Boxing is that in combat sports we don't spend enough time studying film.
For amateur boxing it's a different animal than professional sports - we might not have any film to watch when it comes to a potential opponent, but we do have ourselves that we absolutely should be watching, and studying - and we have our peers and stablemates that we should be watching and studying.
There is so much to learn and study that we are not tapping into
Before I get into a more descriptive mode of what it is I'm offering here - let's take a look at a couple of film studies from the Lucky Punch YouTube page - and let the study speak for itself:
These two are always super smart, extremely entertaining and incredibly educational to watch - fantastic work -
We breakdown Ryan's pros and cons
in just 1 minute and 14 seconds so much is learned - I love the use of punches as a means of control and creating a "bad neighborhood" - really excellent execution and exceptional decisions and choices
We'll do a deep and detailed dive into your round(s) of boxing.
We’ll meticulously analyze your rounds, or your pad work, or any specific drills you're working on and uncover vital insights to elevate your performance. We'll break down pivotal moments from your sparring sessions or matches, dissecting techniques, strategies, and momentum shifts.
This tailored approach will not only sharpen your skills but also deepen your understanding of the sport, empowering you to apply your techniques confidently and effectively.
Whether you’re a seasoned fighter or a curious beginner, our content will introduce you to effective play calls and innovative techniques deeply rooted in A Million Styles Boxing and uniquely crafted for and through Lucky Punch Boxing.
You're in the right place to explore the art of boxing, learn from real scenarios, and elevate your game to the next level
It's important to know that this is NOT about changing you, your style or anything like that - it's about making you better at what you do and introducing things that you might not know where there.
Whenever it comes to feedback from another coach - take what applies, let go of what doesn't - EVERY coach has their own view and understanding of things - your coach knows you best - I simply have a different way of looking at what we do and have a great appreciation for and of development and of the drills to make boxers better at what they love to do and make them better at what they don't love to do
First thing is to let me know you're interested and we'll take it from there - you can contact me through the website or email me at todd@luckypunchboxing.com -- or text/call: 508-393-4763
Then get me video of your round(s) or pad work or drills and I'll get you a film study
